Classification Unit Number (CU)
A classification unit (CU) number is a six-digit code issued to companies by WorkSafeBC. Typically, each firm is assigned to the one CU that best describes its primary business activity.
An example of a CU Number in the Ready-Mix sub-sector is: 712006
An example of a CU Number in Framing or Residential Forming: 721024
Companies in construction, aggregate or ready-mixed sectors may be eligible to take the training at no cost.
WorkSafe Account Number
This is the 6 or 9-digit ACCOUNT NUMBER (OR EMPLOYER ID) with which your firm is registered with WorkSafeBC. Not the Classification Unit Number.
Some examples of where you can locate your firm's account number include:
- Monthly Claim Cost Statements;
- Annual Rate Notification Letter;
- WorkSafeBC Inspection Reports; and
- Other written correspondence from WorkSafeBC.
