Safety Proficiency Assignment (SPA)

The Safety Proficiency Assignment (SPA) is a mandatory component for NCSO® / NHSA™ designation applicants. It is a tool used to evaluate the participants’ ability to apply what they have learned in the classroom.

The Safety Proficiency Assignment consists of 4 parts:

  1. Hazard Assessment Report
  2. Incident / Near-miss Investigation
  3. Safety Meeting / Toolbox Talk
  4. Site Inspection

The SPA guideline, which includes templates, as well as the assignment marking criteria, can be downloaded below. Please review the SPA requirements carefully before uploading documents to your application portal.
