Principles of Health & Safety Management (PHSM)
This online course is designed to provide guidance and instruction about developing a simple yet robust Health and Safety manual. The course material is geared towards the construction industry, and offers sample policies, forms and checklists that can be tailored into a cost-effective company Health and Safety manual. The PHSM course aims to help employers build a solid foundation for developing the Safety Programs & Safety Management System.
Please Note: Re-certifying COR Internal Auditors are NOT required to complete PHSM in order to recertify.
WHY SHOULD I TAKE PHSM?
Anyone with an interest in learning about developing a Health and Safety Manual is recommended to take PHSM. Anyone can register for free. The course reviews in detail the elements of a safety program as it pertains to the construction COR audit standard. Consequently, any new or expired BCCSA auditor is required to complete this course upon entering the COR Internal Auditor Program.
A challenge exam is embedded in the second last chapter of the course (for anyone with prior OH&S knowledge). As a co-requisite to COR Internal Auditor Training, participants of the COR Internal Auditor Program must complete PHSM within 4 weeks of their COR Internal Auditor Training.
AUTOMATIC CERTIFICATE UPON COMPLETION
Certificates will be sent via email automatically upon completion of the course exam. The challenge exam is embedded in the second last chapter of the course. Students must score at least 80% on the PHSM quiz to receive certification.
There is NO COST to register or complete the course. No CU is required upon registration.
