BCCSA has moved to an online registration process. To register for a course you will first need to create a BCCSA Account (TCP Gateway). Once you have created your account and are logged in, search for a course (TCP Gateway) you wish to take, click on the course number, and click on the register now button.
You must bring government issued ID for all course. For two-day courses you are required to wear CSA approved steel-toed boots with minimum six-inch ankle protection and clothing to protect you from the weather for the on road practical (day two). Bagged lunch and work gloves are recommended.
Your record of completion is valid for 3 years.
Once your card has expired you are NOT eligible to direct traffic on roads in British Columbia. You must renew your card by taking the one-day TCP Renewal course. If your card is expired for longer than one full calendar year, you are required to retake the two-day course.
You have the option of taking the one-day TCP Renewal course (online version here) any time during your 3-year term, or up to one year after expiry. Alternatively, you can take the two-day course with on road practical training.
No, there is no extension for TCP expiry dates. There are many courses available throughout the province. To find a course, see the TCP Course Schedule (TCP Gateway).
TCPs who complete their course are issued a digital TCP card that can be accessed online in the TCP Gateway. You can access this digital card on your phone or other electronic device. TCPs can expect their physical card to arrive in the mail eight to 10 weeks after finishing the course. If you have not received your new card within three months, please contact the office to confirm the mailing address on your profile.
To order a replacement card ($20 including GST), contact the BCCSA and arrange payment. Please note you must have your valid TCP identification card on you at all times when directing traffic in BC.
Online course results may take 24 to 48 hours to appear in your TCP Gateway account.
