Safe Job Procedures

Safe Job Procedure (SJP): A written step-by-step set of instructions on how to safely complete a specific task (e.g., lockout). Safe job procedures must clearly identify: the hazards the worker could be exposed to, the steps required to complete the task (in proper order), the control measures and what to do in an emergency situation (also referred to as safe work procedures or execution plans).

Contact a BCCSA Regional Safety Advisor if you have any questions or would like assistance developing SJPs.
